Samsung Galaxy S10 5G – Available next week

The hits just keep on coming for Telstra, and I’m talking good hits here – on the same day they announced the 5G Hub from HTC was available, they’ve set a date for the 5G version of the Galaxy S10.

Announced in February along with the rest of the S10 range, and showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the S10 5G is the first big-name 5G handset to hit Australia.

While they won’t be alone, with Oppo and LG set to launch very soon – Samsung is no doubt the biggest name.

Plus, they have an instant audience of owners. Those people who pre ordered the Galaxy S10+ through Telstra through the pre-order period earlier in the year – they get to instantly upgrade to the S10 5G at no cost.

Yep, free new phone.

Even if there’s no 5G within cooeee of your place – it’s free. Crazy. But you have 21 days to do that from May 28.

Garry McGregor from Samsung Australia said: “The Galaxy S10 5G is designed to perform at a level that we have never before seen in a Samsung device. From its 3D Depth Camera to 5G network capability, we’re delivering the ultimate in terms of innovation, design, and experience.”

”This is the most anticipated device Samsung has ever launched in Australia as it combines additions to our amazing Galaxy range but also opens the door to the opportunities that 5G experiences will bring people in future.”

Telstra’s Kevin Teoh said the launch marked the beginning of a new mobile era. “This will be a game-changing moment for our customers. Telstra has been building Australia’s first 5G technology for some time, and now our customers are ready to be the first in Australia to experience this technology in the areas where 5G is now available,”

“5G-enabled devices are the next step towards customers experiencing the potential of this revolutionary network technology. Faster downloads, high resolution video streaming with less buffering and better mobile gaming on the go are just the start of the network technology’s possibilities. 5G also has the potential to transform the way we all live and work.”

The device will be available with 256GB or 512GB models and in two colours; Crown Silver and Majestic Black

As yet we don’t know more about Telstra’s 5G Mobile plans – we expect to find out those on Monday.
