First Look: Aldi QLED Android TV – 58 Inch $699!

Duck into your local Aldi this week and you’ll see some big deals in the Special Buy catalog. Along with the front page cracker that is the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 900, there’s also a brand new TV and it’s a first for Aldi.

Aldi’s exclusive brand Bauhn is introducing their first QLED TV. This one is a 58 inch TV running Android TV and will sell on Saturday 14 March for $699.

As we’ve said before with Bauhn Android TVs they are the smartest you’ll need and offer supreme value given you can run everything from Netflix, to Stan, YouTube, Kayo and any streaming app Android offers.

The remote is equipped with a Google Assistant button and impressively this was far more responsive in our testing than previous versions which is great.

But the real headline here is two fold, design and picture quality. The slimline bezel is very impressive, with just a few millimeters of visible border around the screen, again – impressive for the price.

However, in a first for Bauhn, this TV has the advanced Quantum Dot technology seen on the big name TVs. QLED TVs have a thin film of Quantum Dots covering every pixel – these amplify the colour and brightness and allow for a more consistent and immersive picture.

Out of the box I can confirm this is a brighter picture than any Bauhn we’ve tested before it.

Of course, you’ve only got one TV in your loungeroom so you’ll struggle to compare, but take my word for it, it’s a step up.

4K resolution, HDR compatible and fully connected this is a great buy and I’m sure they’ll run out the door.

I’ve been doing some work with Bauhn to make product videos for their TVs and this one really stood out to me.

$699 at Aldi, Available from Saturday, March 14 – just in time to get it home and watch the F1 Qualifying that afternoon.
