Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will arrive in Australia on April 3 for $2,199

After announcing their foldable flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip last month, Samsung has today announced the phone will arrive in Australia on April 3rd for $2,199.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip sports a folding 6.7-inch Infinity Flex Display featuring Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass, and a minute 1.1-inch display on the front which shows notifications – or acts as a viewfinder for a selfie.

Samsung has designed a freestop folding hinge for the Z Flip which gives users options to have it sit opened on the desk for video conferencing.

The phone has high-end specs with an octa-core processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Camera specs are impressive with a dual-camera array featuring a 12MP Ultra Wide and 12MP Wide Angle, as well as a 10MP front-facing camera.

When it lands in stores on April 3rd, the Galaxy Z Flip will be the cheapest foldable phone available in Australia. Motorola’s foldable flip phone, the Moto Razr will finally go on-sale today at JB Hifi for $2,699. Larger foldable phones offering tablet sized internal displays and larger secondary screens such as the SamsungGalaxy Fold sells for $2,999, while the Huawei Mate Xs will sell for $3,999 when it hits shelves on April 9th.

You’ll be able to pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip from this Friday, March 20th but you’ll have to wait until April 3rd to get one in your hands.
