realme 6 phone arriving in Australia on April 23 alongside new AIoT range including realme Buds Air and realme Band

Smartphone maker realme has today announced their next generation of smartphone in Australia with the launch of the realme 6, which will arrive alongside their new smart wearable range which includes a new fitness band and totally wireless realme Buds Air.

The realme 6 is their latest smartphone to launch in Australia, after the company launched here last year with four exciting new phones. The realme 6 continues the list of exciting new phones, packing in a massive amount of features for the low price of $469.

The realme 6 comes with a Mediatek Helio G90T processor, which has been described as ‘designed with gamers in mind’. The handset has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (with microSD card up to 256GB) to back it up, so performance should be good. The phone includes a lovely 6.5-inch FHD+ resolution 90 Hz display, which has a tiny punch hole notch for a 16MP front-facing camera, and there’s precious little bezel here, so that’s nice.

The phone includes a massive 4300mAh battery which would be a fantastic spec by itself in any other phone, but the realme 6 also includes 30W VOOC Flash Charge tech which means you can charge your phone to 100% full in just 60 minutes – or you can top up the battery to 68% in just 30 minutes.

The phone has two colour options available – both eye-catching like the entity they’re named after – with either Comet White, or Comet Blue on offer.

As announced earlier this year at the launch of the X50, realme is launching their AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) range, starting in Australia with the realme Band, and the realme Buds.

Speaking about their entry into the AIoT market in Australia, Andy Yang, Managing Director of realme Australia, says: ‘It’s a core part of our strategy to ensure Aussies can enjoy the latest technologies and innovations without having to break the bank. The realme band offers a bargain price on the fitness tracker, coming in at . The realme band includes a 0.96-inch (2.4cm) colour, touch sensitive LCD display with a TPU wristband that will be available in Black, Green and Yellow colour options.

The band is IP68 water-resistant so you can work up a sweat and supports nine sport modes including walking, running, yoga and cricket.

The band is fully featured and includes a heart-rate monitor, and supports sleep tracking. The band will even remind you to get up if you’ve been sitting too long, and to drink water more regularly.

Also launching in the AIoT range are the realme Buds Air, a totally wireless earbud solution which will sell for just 9.

realme Buds Air include support for Bluetooth 5.0, and use a custom ‘R1’ chip to ensure an instant (and stable) connection – it also improves battery life. There’s also a gaming mode that reduces latency by 51% to ensure your experience is all in sync.

You’ll get 3 hours of battery life from the realme Buds Air, with 17 hours from the battery charging case – which comes in yellow, black or white colour styles – and the case has a USB-C connection for charging (or they support wireless Qi charging too), happy day!

The realme Buds Air include wear detection so your music, audio book, podcast etc. will stop playing, or resume when you take the earbuds out, or put it in – but they’re touch sensitive too with long and double/triple presses to start or stop your audio, reject calls and more.

There’s Environmental Noise Cancelling (ENC) built-in to the Buds Air thanks to dual microphones, so your call quality should be great. The ENC is only on calls though, so there’s room for improvement for gen 2.
