Nokia 5.3 with AI powered quad-camera arriving in Australia for $349 on May 21

After announcing the Nokia 5.3 last month, HMD Global has today announced the phone will be arriving in Australia on May 21st for $349.

The Nokia 5.3 includes a spacious 6.55-inch, 720p+ display covered in 2.5D glass on the front with a tear-drop notch to house the 8MP selfie camera.

The Nokia 5.3 is the first phone in their range to use the Snapdragon 665 mobile platform which promises ‘silky smooth graphics’ and performance which will let users ‘easily switch between apps’. There’s also 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage all powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which Nokia says will see you through two-days of battery life.

There’s two bonus features on the Nokia 5.3, the first is a headphone jack, while the second is a dedicated Google Assistant button to give you faster access to your Google Assistant.

The Nokia 5.3 packs a quad-camera array on the rear which includes a 13MP main sensor, 2MP macro camera, 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor with an LED flash.

Running Android 10, the Nokia 5.3 is up to date, and Nokia hold a very good record for software updates. Their spec list also notes that the phone will receive ‘3 years of security updates and 2 years of software upgrades’. Not bad at all.

You can get your hands on the Nokia 5.3 in Charcoal from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Officeworks from Thursday 21 May for $349 RRP. The phone will also be coming to The Good Guys and Big W soon. While it’s hard to go wrong with classic black, Nokia has advised their Cyan and Sand coloured Nokia 5.3 will be hitting stores soon.
