A tablet and smartwatch for the kids at Big W for $229

TCL has bundled a new kids tablet with their popular kids smart watch for a package deal at Big W.

The two devices together will set you back just $229 in July ($279 thereafter) which is a cracking price by any measure.

Sam Skontos from TCL Mobile Australia says he knows as well as anyone the need for these devices “As a father, knowing my children are safe in the real world and online is my number one priority. We’re proud to be in a position to offer these two products together, so that Australian families have an affordable option to invest in technology that is built for children, with parental needs in mind,”

“In the digital world we live in, the bundle presents a great option for younger families, with children that might not yet be ready for their first smartphone. It provides a way for these kids to stay connected with their parents as they head to kindergarten or prep-school with the smartwatch, as well as the option to play and learn at home with the tablet, in a way that removes the worry of the unfiltered and unseemly side of the internet that is all too easily stumbled upon with your typical tablet or phone.”

The TKEE Mini Tablet is a 7 inch Android device with a kid-friendly design, made to be durable, and with a really easy to use interface.

There are parental controls and site filtering built in, and a selection of child-friendly games.

And the kids can’t lose track of time with the 30 minute alerts for screen breaks.

It will power through a day with a 2580mAh battery too.

Paired with that is the TCL Movetime Family Watch (MT40) which offers two way video calling via the companion app, as well as a really great peace of mind for parents being able to check where the kids are, and contact them if necessary.

You can get it at Big W in Pink or Blue
