Limited Edition Mercedes AMG F1 branded Scooter available in Australia from Xiaomi

Lewis Hamilton still hasn’t signed on the dotted line to be a Mercedes F1 driver in 2021 – perhaps now he will – with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 – Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Edition.

This is a smart, electric scooter capable of 25km/h and a 45km range.

It’s not cheap though, at $1,499 you’ve gotta really want a scooter, and be a massive F1 fan. Perhaps if they sell enough they can afford Lewis’ new contract demands?

George Saad from Panmi, the Aussie arm of Xiaomi says “The Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2: Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 edition is an electric scooter with more power and a stylish design so you can ride with the best and feel your best”

Similar in many ways to the Xiaomi produced Segway Ninebot Max and others, this beast features dual braking system and inflatable tyres.

The speed and mode display is buit-in to the handlebars and the whole thing can be operated, monitored and locked by a connected smartphone app.

Of course, as an officially licensed product of the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team, it comes in the Mercedes/Petronas colours, and features the team logo in it’s branding.

Love it. But you’re REALLY going to need to be an F1 fan, because it’s about a $300 premium over the non-branded model.
