Samsung announces new budget conscious Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablets

A new range of budget conscious Samsung tablets are on the way, with the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite announced overnight, and they’ll be heading to Australia later this year.

Both tablets are pared down versions of their namesakes announced last year, though with more modest specs. While local pricing hasn’t been announced they will be more affordable with Garry McGregor, Vice President, Mobile Division, Samsung Electronics Australia saying

Samsung is committed to delivering best-in-class mobile experiences across our entire portfolio of devices. Our new Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will offer Australians an exceptional Android experience, at a more accessible price.

Both tablets ship with Android 11, which should also offer up to 3 years of updates as per Samsung’s announcement earlier this year.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite both also include Dual Stereo Speakers sound by AKG, with Dolby Atmos so you’re going to get a great audio experience while on the go.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is the more compact of the two models with an 8.7-inch 1340×800 resolution TFT display, and comes with a durable metal cover in Gray and Silver.

The tablet is powered by a, presumably Exynos, octa-core processor. Samsung has announced models with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage – which you can expand with a microSD card up to 1TB.

Tablet shutterbugs will be pleased, with Samsung  including an 8MP camera on the rear of the A7 Lite, and a 2MP selfie camera on the front.

Galaxy Tab S7 FE

On the back of the massively successful, and popular Fan Edition Galaxy S20, Samsung has brought the concept to their tablets offering the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, a more premium tablet experience but without the higher price.

Featuring a thin and light profile in four colours, Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, Mystic Green, and Mystic Pink, the Galaxy S7 FE is a larger tablet with a 12.4-inch* 2560×1600 TFT display that includes S-Pen support and a number of pre-loaded S-pen apps like Better Digital Drawing and PEN-UP.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE is fairly powerful, with an octa-core processor and will come in either 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB models, with support for 1TB microSD expansion. The tablet has a massive 10,090mAh battery, which also includes support for 45W Super Fast Charging to make sure you’ve got plenty of power.

The cameras on the Galaxy Tab S7 FE offers a little more than the A7 Lite with a an 8MP camera on the rear, and a 5MP shooter on the front.

Availability

Samsung hasn’t announced pricing or dates for launching the Galaxy S7 FE or Galaxy Tab A7 Lite in Australia, but they have confirmed both tablets will be coming. Samsung has announced both Wi-Fi and LTE models for both tablets, so we’ll see what happens when they arrive later in the second half of this year.
