Lenovo unveils new range of consumer tablets

While Mobile World Congress is a little subdued this year, Lenovo has announced a slew of new Android tablets ranging from the premium Yoga, to their more affordable M and P-Series tablets.

Yoga Tab 13 and Yoga Tab 11

At the higher end of the range, the new Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 and Yoga Tab 11 offer a premium experience with 13” and 11” Dolby Vision enhanced displays housed in a tablet form-factor that includes a rolled edge for easier grip. The rolled edge also includes  a handle which can be used to hang the tablet, or prop it up for writing on using the optional stylus.

The Yoga Tab 11 and Yoga Tab 13 both feature different CPUs, with the Yoga Tab 13 running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage, while the Yoga Tab 11 uses a G90T Mediatek processor, and comes with either 4GB RAM/128GB or 8GB/256GB.

Lenovo’s partnership with Dolby also includes Atmos certified speakers, with triple mics in the Yoga Tab 13, and dual mics in the Yoga Tab 11.

The Yoga Tab 13 will come in Shadow Black which includes a soft touch Alcantara material on the exterior, while the Yoga Tab 11 will come in Storm Grey.

At this stage Lenovo is still confirming local pricing and availability for the Yoga Tab 11 and Yoga Tab 13, and we’ll hear more closer to launch.

Lenovo Tab P11 Plus + Tab M7 and Tab M8

If the premium Yoga Tabs aren’t for you, the Lenovo M and P-series tablets offer a more budget friendly option coming in 7”, 8” and 11” form-factors.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Plus has a dual-tone finish and comes with an 11-inch (2000 x 1200 resolution) display with a Mediatek G90T processor and options for either 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB or 6GB/128GB memory/storage configurations.

The P11 Plus also has an optional keyboard attachment available which can turn the tablet into a compact productivity machine.

The Tab M7 and Tab M8 also use Mediatek processors, and come with a 7” (1024×600) LCD and 8” (1280×800) LCD displays.

An interesting feature for both the Tab M7 and Tab M8 is the optional kids bumper case which includes a kickstand. This will both keep the tablet safe in those eager little hands, and also functional with that kickstand letting it sit in either portrait or landscape mode.

While Lenovo lists Android 11 for the Tab P11 Plus, the Tab M7 and Tab M8 aren’t listed. All three tablets do come with Google Kids Space, a child friendly area which promotes child friendly content like apps, books and videos that target their age groups and interests.

Lenovo hasn’t confirmed local pricing or availability for their Yoga, M or P-series tablets as yet, but we’ll get that info as we get closer to launch.
