Goodtel, turning your smartphone into a force for good

There are many people doing it tough around the world and many of us want to help in any way we can. Goodtel is a telco that does so, by putting their money where their mouth is, donating 50% of their profits to a variety of charities.

Although Goodtel have a social-impact business model that donates 50% of their profits to 11 different charities including charities such as Greening Australia, Drought Angels, sleepbus and HeartKids, there are still a telco with coverage of 97.9% of the population via the Telstra 4G network.

Goodtel is also carbon neutral and is designed to give you all the good feels while at the same time decent mobile coverage. Which charity the profits are donated to depends on which you select and that can be changed at any time and with 11 to choose from you can be sure to find one that speaks to you. Goodtel was only founded in 2019 (yes, right before the pandemic which was unfortunate) but they have just hit a donation figure of $50,000 total to all of their charities which is significant given their relative infancy in this industry. The company may be new but those running it are not new to the industry.

Damien Gould, Co-Founder and Manager Director of Goodtel shares: “The telco industry is a multi-billion dollar business with a huge platform and opportunity to do good. We had been running telcos for over 20 years and knew it was time to create one that was solely about doing good and making a better world for our kids and future generations.”

Australian-owned, Goodtel are looking to expand their customer base more now as the pandemic is winding down (fingers crossed) and offer a range of mobile and nbn plans starting at $23 a month for mobile plans and $50 per month for 50Mbps nbn plans. All plans come with a 14 day no-risk trial so if you don’t love Goodtel after 14 days you can cancel and receive a full refund.

With both personal and business plans available if you want to use your smartphone for good and give back to the world why not head on over to Goodtel and check out their plans and the charities they support.
