TCL announced expanded 2020 range “30 Series” smartphones at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Here in Barcelona the city is as ready as ever for Mobile World Congress to kick off tomorrow, though the scale seems slightly smaller judging by the crowd control gates outside the Fira Gran Via, but there’s certainly set to be plenty of announcements with TCL showing off an expanded 30 Series range of smartphones for 2022.

If you look at the TCL smartphones for 2022 in isolation you see impressive quality, great design, excellent screen technology and like many other brands you would expect all these things.

In reality, this is a monumental achievement given how long TCL has been building its own branded phones. The TCL Plex was the first in 2019, then the 10 series and 20 series in the following years.

In 2022 there will be give 30 Series smartphones in Australia – part of a global range that features eight or more.

They will be the TCL 305G, TCL 30+, TCL 30, TCL 30 SE, and TCL 30 E.

A 50 Megapixel camera features across the whole range in a time when that photo quality is most certainly a key selling feature.

Paired with that camera are a bunch of AI technologies to improve photos, like Steady Snap which captures objects in motion, Face Tracking, and even an Auto-Capture feature which makes getting more people into frame on a wide-angled selfie easier.

The TCL 30 SE and 30 E feature a 6.52 inch screen with a mini notch for the camera, while the three other devices feature a 6.7 inch AMOLED screen, and TCL’s NXTVISION technology is featured on all five along with eye care being key in a range of screen modes.

They are lightweight, and all feature a fantastic 5,000mAh battery.

It’s an impressive range, both on design and features, and as is common with TCL you can expect to see them spread across retail channels with some being Telco exclusive, others a direct sell and some in major retail. Those details will be confirmed in the months ahead as we get closer to a launch date in Australia.

As a guide, the European pricing for the five devices heading down-under are:

  • TCL 30 5G: from €249
  • TCL 30+: from €199
  • TCL 30: from €179
  • TCL 30 SE: from €149
  • TCL 30 E: from €139
