Dell and Alienware launch three new gaming laptops to the Australian market

Last year Alienware released their first AMD-powered laptop in well over a decade and since then they have continued to release new laptops with an AMD chipset onboard. They have now announced that three new AMD-powered gaming laptops will be available in Australia from tomorrow.

The new laptops are the Alienware m15 R7, the Alienware m17 R5 (new updated versions) and an entry-level gaming laptop, the Dell G15, all powered by AMD.

Alienware m15 R7

The Alienware m15 R7, as you would expect, is a 15.6-inch 360Hz 1ms laptop, with a high-quality display (up to QHD resolution) and maximum performance while delivering the usual Alienware branding but with a new design. The design offers better cooling with thinner and wider fan blades to deliver 1.3 times the air flow of its predecessor.

With a 56Whr battery standard (can be specced up to 86Whr if required) powering either an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H or an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX chipset alongside up to 64GB of RAM in its two DDR5 SO-DIMMs you can expect performance to be top notch.

You can also install up to 2 x 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD hard drives to minimise latency in the system. The laptop is also available with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB GDDR6 graphics card to round out the high-end specs available in this device.

You would expect to be able to play even the most demanding games using this laptop and with a competitive price of $2,799 it may not be a bad option if you are in the market for a high-end gaming laptop.

Alienware m17 R5

The Alienware m17 R5 offers a 17-inch display with up to 360Hz refresh rate and UHD resolution. The rest of the specs can be configured similar to that for the m15 R7 above with up to AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB graphics card and up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM. It also supports two PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDs.

Dell G15 (5525)

The Dell G15 represents a gaming laptop for the beginning and casual gamers with AMD Ryzen 6000 processors onboard. Offering NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics with up to 8GB GDDR6 memory and a 240Hz display they can still offer a great gaming performance.

There is dual air intake and four exhaust vents and copper pipes for optimum cooling along with up to 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage, 16GB of DDR5 RAM (or 32GB if you want to add it yourself) and is available in Dark Shadow Grey, Phantom Grey with speckles and Spector Green with camouflage.
