Razer unveils a handheld gaming-dedicated mobile device, the Razer Edge

At CES 2023Razer has unveiled their new Android-based handheld gaming device, the Razer Edge.  Although they have previous released the Razer Phone and the Razer Phone 2 but those were gaming smartphones.

The Razer Edge is a gaming device and that’s it.  The downside is that it means you’ll have to carry two devices if you want a phone as well, but the upside is that the gaming Razer Edge is a lot cheaper than the Razer Phone 2.

You’d expect high end specs on a mobile gaming device, and you will not be disappointed with the Razer Edge.  Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 (an active-cooled gaming chipset designed specifically for gaming), the 2400 x 1080 FHD+ 6.8-inch AMOLED display will look amazing and smooth as butter thanks to its support for a 144Hz refresh rate.

There is no wasted time or money on a rear camera setup with the single front-facing streaming camera located along the side (the top when viewing the device in a landscape orientation).  This device is designed and built for gaming and nothing else.

The Razer Edge gives you access to all your favourite games from either Google Play, streaming from your PC or Xbox from your home, or the Cloud with Xbox Game Pass.

In the US it will be sold through Verizon who are including the Razer Kishi V2 Pro with it for that improved gaming performance.  The Razer Kishi V2 Pro offers that console gaming experience with buttons and joysticks but on a mobile device.

Local availability and pricing will be revealed in the coming weeks but in the US the Razer Edge will be priced at just US9.99.
