Samsung Wallet arrives in Australia – keep all your digital stuff securely in one place

After announcing their new digital wallet service alongside the Galaxy S22 last year, Samsung have announced that Samsung Wallet will be arriving in Australila later this month.

As well as Australia, Samsung have announced they will be bringing Samsung Wallet to seven new countries including Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Samsung Wallet includes the Samsung Pay digital payment system, as well as the option to store and use your Opal card for travelling on public transport in Sydney, as well as loyalty cards – all protected by Samsung Knox. Wallet expands on this by adding in things like boarding passes for flights, digital keys and even crypto-currency, though Samsung Australia has advised that ‘launch of specific features and supported device models may vary by market’.

Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics said of the launch

When Samsung launched Samsung Wallet last year, we committed to building the experience through open partnerships with our business and service providers and ensuring access to the platform for as many people as possible. Over the past several months, we’ve worked hard to rapidly expand the availability of Samsung Wallet, bringing the platform to more potential users. We look forward to sharing exciting new developments in the year ahead.

The update to Samsung Wallet will roll out to Samsung users later this month, you’ll be able to download it on your Samsung Galaxy device from the Galaxy App store
