Razer introduce the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% gaming keyboard with hotswappable switches

Razer has announced the new BlackWidow V4 75%, ideal for the gamer who loves to customise their gaming accessories bringing not only “unparalleled customisation”, but all the gaming features needed to keep up with the competition.

The BlackWidow V4 75% is the result of Razer listening to the community, seamlessly merging customization with gaming,” said Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division. “Its hot-swappable architecture, paired with our elite mechanical switches and adaptive Chroma RGB lighting, empowers gamers to tailor a keyboard that’s truly unique to their needs.”

Although it is available already in black or white colourways, the BlackWidow V4 75% is even more customisable with compatibility with 3 or 5-pin switches. The new socket PCB design from Razer allows the user to swap out the pre-loaded switches with their own mechanical alternatives. This allows the user to be in full control over the keyboard’s feel and responsiveness.

The BlackWidow V4 75% arrives with Razer’s new Orange Tactile Mechanical Switches Gen-3 pre-installed offering a “higher bump point and a cleaner sound profile” offering even better tactility than the previous generation.

The backbone of the new keyboard is a gasket-mounted FR4 plate with two layers of sound dampening foam to reduce “unwanted pinging and reverberation.”

While the 75% layout is obviously smaller in size and lacks the numpad and more, the BlackWidow V4 75% offers all the essential keys while allowing for more real estate for your mouse (this is why I prefer a 75% keyboard). The specific gaming features include an up to 8000Hz polling rate, fully programmable keys, Doubleshot ABS keycaps, N-key rollover and anti-ghosting

As you’d expect in a gaming keyboard from Razer, the BlackWidow V4 75% includes their Chroma RGB lighting offering 2-side underglow and per-key lighting allowing you to customise the keyboard not only for your personal preferences but also your specific game preferences.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 75% will be available in the next few weeks from Razer or good gaming accessory resellers for $349.95 AUD / $389.95 NZD for the black edition and $369.95 AUD/ $419.95 NZD for the white version.
