LG’s robot vacuum range is now available in Australia

LG has today announced that they will be the latest company to enter the robot vacuum market in Australia with the R3 and the R5 CordZero Robot vacuums.

Both vacuum models include a wet mop function allowing the robot to vacuum and mop at the same time and the premium R5 models including 360 LiDAR sensor technology allowing the vacuum to map the layout of rooms, identifying obstacle locations at the same time.

Shannon Tweedie, Marketing Manager of Home Appliances at LG Australia said of the new vacuums:

Australians are increasingly looking for added convenience in their daily chores and are embracing innovative technology to do so – giving them back more time to focus on what truly matters.

“Designed to bring convenience to Australian homes, the LG robot vacuum range merges intuitive technology, such as LiDAR sensors, with smart features including built-in mop and connectivity with the LG ThinQ® app to help elevate everyday experiences.

All functions of the vacuums are controlled using the LG ThinQ app allowing for remote operation and room mapping. The app also includes the ability to alter the suction power based on the floor material, surface size and the type of dust being cleaned. Inside the app is also the control for Smart Suction which automatically increases suction power one level when carpet is detected.

The R5-AUTO premium model includes an auto-emptying tower to empty the vacuum of its collected dust and particles when it returns to the docking station for recharging.

All models support Google Home and Alexa voice control allowing users to start or stop cleaning and to determine progress of the robot’s cleaning.

The latest LG robot vacuum range is now available for purchase from lg.com/au and leading retailers.
