EFTM BEST AWARDS 2023: BEST MIXED REALITY

Fanboys of Meta and Oculus will lose their minds here – “how can you give an award to a product that isn’t on sale yet” – easy answer: Because I can, it’s my site – I can do what I want:)

But in truth, the Apple Vision Pro is one of the rare gadgets that stopped me in my place, wowed me, and left me stunned.

I was lucky enough to try it at the Apple Park HQ in Cupertino and it was, unquestionable, the best mixed reality experience I’ve ever had.

Give me three Meta Quest 3 devices and I’ll challenge it’s abilities against the Vision Pro. But, in complete fairness too – Meta hasn’t made it possible for me to even try the Quest 3, so I can only go with what I’ve seen here.

The lack of controllers, or should I say the way they’ve designed this not to need controllers – amazing.

Quality of the screen and vision – outstanding.

Experience – easy to use, and intuitive.

Price – outrageous. I don’t know who will buy it.

In fact, I’ve said all along, this is the Best Mixed Reality device I’ve ever seen, but I don’t know who or what it’s for. That’s going to come down to what developers do with it. We will see.

But in terms of creating a Mixed Reality experience – no brainer, The EFTM BEST Award for BEST MIXED REALITY goes to the Apple Vision Pro.
