News junkies and those rubber-neckers keen on seeing the US political race for the presidency this year will rejoice as CNN International returns to Fetch for the US election cycle.
TV networks, channels and content are all about rights and deals, and today Fetch TV and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) confirmed a multi-year extension of the existing channel partnership which in turn makes Fetch the home to the most WBD channels in Australia.
It’s all timed well for political junkies launching this week for the Iowa primaries (spoiler, Trump romped it in) and will continue right through to the US Presidential Election on November 5.
All the WBD channels are part of the 50 channel pack on Fetch which costs just $20 per month, or if you want CNN you’ll get it on the Knowledge Pack for just $6 per month.
Fetch TV’s Chief Content and Commercial officer Sam Hall says “We are delighted to extend our partnership with WBD, with the addition of CNN International taking the total number of WBD channels available on Fetch to nine. Fetch customers will continue to have access to fan favourite programs including Aussie Gold Hunters, Street Outlaws and Sister Wives. We are also very pleased to see CNN rejoin the platform after a two-year hiatus, just in time for what is expected to be a riveting U.S, election cycle.”
At WBD their SVP of Networks Glen Kyne says “Warner Bros. Discovery’s content is incredibly popular in Australia, and this renewal deal with Fetch signals our commitment to continue bringing our homegrown and international content to audiences locally. Building on our long-standing partnership, we’re also thrilled to expand the reach of CNN International as the trusted news channel returns to Fetch.”
All nine channels from WBD on Fetch are:
