Lexus LM500h Ultra Luxury – the $220,000 people mover with just two seats in the back

Sometimes you look at a product and think, hmm, is this the answer to a question nobody asked? But then you realise, some people live in a vastly different world to you and actually you’ve just never heard the question being asked. But, for the question of “What is the most luxurious way I could travel by road?” is what’s on your mind, then the Answer is the Lexus LM 500h Ultra Luxury.

This is what you get when you take the Toyota Hiace, throw in the people moving capabilities of the Toyota Granvia and then, hand it over to the craftsmen at Lexus to add not just comfort and design, but a sticker price of $220,888.

Yep, a $220,000 People mover.

But here’s the thing, It’s not an eight seater. It’s not even a seven seater. This is a four seater.

Two up front, two out back.

But baby, out the back, you’re flying private all the way.

Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas spoke of this vehicle defining luxury travel, “The thoughtful appointments, Takumi craftsmanship and serene cabin make the all-new LM 500h Ultra Luxury the new benchmark for personalised chauffeured travel.”

This is going to be the top notch Hire-Car of the lot, forget that Audi or BMW SUV, when this thing pulls up – you’re riding in style.

Sitting in the back you have two stunning captains chairs, with over 1 meter of room between your hip and the partition that separates you from the drivers cabin, which can be closed off for privacy at the touch of a button.

Leather appointed rear-seats that can slide forward or back by a staggering 48cm, and a 63 degree recline, for those coming from their Southern Highlands estate to the Airport, you’re in for a treat.

Seat heating, and arm and leg heating, as well as ventilation and massage, there aren’t too many boxes left unticked.

A big fridge for some cold ones – but don’t worry, it’s got a low-noise compressor so is nice and quiet too.

In front of you, a massive 48 inch widescreen which is the largest on any vehicle ever sold in Australia which is a great movie experience, or – good for meetings on-the-go.

But chill out, tune into your 23 speaker Mark Levinson Reference 3D Surround Sound system for complete enjoyment.

The driver has a 2.4litre turbo charged four cylinder hyrbid power train with more than 202kW of power and all-wheel drive.

Ouch at the $220,888 price tag, but man, I want a ride in one!
