Sennheiser launches a sports version of their Momentum true wireless earbuds

Sennheiser has launched the Momentum Sport earbuds, a sports version of their highly regarded Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds.

The Momentum Sport earbuds include an IP55 sweat and water resistance rating and are perfect for the outdoors with a shock-proof chassis and “clog resistant” ear tips. You can be sure that they will withstand virtually any workout you throw at it.

Not only are they robust but include some impressive features such as a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor so you can not only listen to great quality music while working out but also receive critical training data that can be output to various fitness apps and devices such as Apple Watch/Health, Garmin Watch/Connect, Polar Vantage V3 multisport watch, Strava, Peloton and more.

“We have worked for over three years to develop the ultimate sports earbuds, MOMENTUM Sport elevates earbuds
from a basic exercise accessory to the heartbeat of your workout—quite literally,” says David Holm, Sennheiser
Sports Product Manager, “Now, athletes and sports enthusiasts can tap into cutting-edge fitness tech and superb
sound in one device.”

The earbuds include capacitive touch buttons and infrared sensors to allow you to control media playback and calls with a simple touch gestures on the earbud’s surfaces.

The included charging case also includes an IP rating — IP54 for this — and will store up to three additional earbud recharges (24 hours in total). There is also Qi charging compatibility and quick charge support so a quick 10 minute charge will provide up to 45 minutes of playback.

As expected from Sennheiser, the sound quality will be top notch thanks to all-new 10mm transducers in each earbud with a semi-open design allowing for sound like you haven’t heart from a sports earbud before. The Bluetooth 5.2 included allows for aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC codec support offering quality music wherever you are.

The MOMENTUM Sport is available now from sennheiser-hearing.com and selected Sennheiser retailers for an MSRP of $529.95 AUD and $549.95 NZD. The earbuds come in three colourways; Polar Black, Burned Olive, and Metallic Graphite.
