ASUS goes large with the Zenfone 11 Ultra landing in Australia today

After a run of compact, flagship level phones ASUS has today announced that the Zenfone 11 Ultra has landed in Australia, bringing with it a new larger form factor.

Priced from $1,599, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is specced remarkably similarly under the hood to the ROG Phone 8 which launched in Australia back in March, though with a much more ‘standard’ phone design from the gamer stylings of the ROG Phone 8.

That spec list reads like a laundry list of top end specs, from the 6.78-inch 144 Hz LTPO AMOLED display enhanced by Pixelworks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, 12GB of DDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage powering the phone, it’s clear this is an absolute flagship when it comes to specs.

The camera has been super-sized as well, with a triple camera array on the rear which finally introduces a telephoto option to the Zenfone series.

The rear array includes a 50MP main sensor mounted on the gen 3, 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabiliser and combined with EIS, offers super steady video and blur-free shots, as well as a 32MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with up to 120˚ field of view.

There’s a large 5,500mAh battery in the Zenfone 11 offering over 26 hours of regular use. There’s fast charging available with support for 65W HyperCharge as well as support for 15W Qi compatible wireless charging.

The design of the phone has drastically shifted between the Zenfone 10 and Zenfone 11, with the phone now a large format device. The similarities to the ROG Phone 8 continue in design with a large camera island included to accommodate that triple camera array, but it’s a very business-like design that’s being launched in two colours:  Skyline Blue and Eternal Black and using a 100% recycled aluminium frame.

The phone will run Android 14, with a number of baked in AI features including AI Wallpaper, AI Call Translator, and AI Transcript which ASUS says will ‘bring unique quality-of-life improvements and revolutionise the user experience’.

If you want to check out the Zenfone 11 Ultra it’s on-sale from today through the ASUS e-Shop and JB-Hifi for

,599 in a choice of Skyline Blue or Eternal Black.
