ASUS Zenbook S 16 is a prime example of just how great PC laptops are about to be

When Microsoft announced the Copilot+ PC category just a few weeks ago it was evident from the get-go that it was going to be a gamechanger, and today we saw what ASUS has to offer in a premium, slim, stunning new device – the ASUS Zenbook S 16.

This thing is fantastic. Firstly, the outer lid is made from a new material that ASUS says “blends the beauty and feel of ceramic, with the strength of aluminium”. The call it “Ceraluminum” – a durable finish that just simply has a different feel to all the aluminium laptops out there. There’s two colours available, the White and Grey – with my pick being the grey from first impressions today.

The ASUS Zenbook S 16 is just 1.1cm thick, weighs just 1.5kg – and it’s a 16 inch screen!

What’s remarkable is that as well as being a thin and outstanding looking device, this thing has power. 50 TOPS – pushing above the Copilot+ threshold, using the AMD Ryzen AI 9 370 processor with a 3D Vapour chamber cooling system – capable of less than 25db volume when cooling.

Above the keyboard is a really nice geometric grille which is CNC machined into the body.

There’s two USB-4 ports, a USB Type A, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack and, AND and SD card slot.

The 16 inch panel is 3K resolution at 120 Hz with a fantastic 90% screen to body ratio.

With the ASUS Zenbook S 16 on the market, there’s never been a better excuse not to choose PC if you’re looking for power, performance, style, portability and size. Ticking all those boxes is tough, this one does it.

Of course, it won’t be cheap – it seems from what we can see this first generation of Copilot+ PCs do push the boundaries of battery life and performance, but prices will be high – expect this to drop at the top of the $2k price bracket, if not into $3k once you spec it up. ASUS Zenbook S 16 will be available in Australia later this year.
