The Australian-developed Nissan Navara Warrior off-road ute – and all current-generation Nissan Navaras fitted with the factory ute tub – now have the option of a powered roller shutter cover with remote control.
Unique to the Nissan Navara roller shutter – and unlike the powered roller shutter covers fitted to the Toyota HiLux Rogue and Ford Ranger Wildtrak – it can be activated using a smartphone app as well as a remote fob, and has the capability for ‘over-the-air’ wifi updates.
The powered roller shutter cover will initially be offered on Nissan Navara Warrior models which go through a final assembly process at Premcar in Melbourne before the vehicles are sent to dealers.
However the cover is also available as a dealer-fit accessory.
The Nissan Navara powered roller shutter cover costs about $4000 including fitment, however remote control operation adds about $450.
The cover is made locally by Melbourne-based firm HSP and sits flush with the top of the ute tray, for a sleeker look.
Unique features include one of the smallest canisters in the market (which takes up less cargo space in the tray), and full width LED lighting.
Nissan Australia says the powered roller shutter covers will be available to order as an option on the Nissan Navara from next month.
