2024 is the year AI is front and centre in the PC world. Microsoft made a big deal of it recently at their Surface event and the PC ecosystem has been abuzz about it since then. HP is now onboard, today launching their first AI-focused PC, the OmniBook Ultra.
The new OmniBook Ultra is HP’s highest performance AI PC with an incredible 55 TOPS of NPU performance and aims to make AI usable and “real” in the form of new AI experiences across the HP ecosystem. These new features are designed to be useful for all users, corporate, freelancers, students and content creators.
The new AI tools will all function on-device thanks to the OmniBook Ultra’s AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor with integrated AMD Radeon 800M graphics. The new NPU promises “unparalleled performance and up to 21 hours of battery life” and you can be sure we’ll put that to the test first opportunity we get.
Alongside this powerful chipset, HP has included an AI-enabled 9MP camera allowing for creative functionality thanks to AI tools such as Poly Camera Pro and Windows Studio Effects.
Security-wise, the new HP OmniBook Ultra includes their Wolf Security which “allows the PC’s core to self-heal from AI-assisted cyberattacks” while at the same time keeping your data secure and private.
Although at this stage the OmniBook Ultra doesn’t include the Copilot+ PC experience, it will be upgraded to the full Copilot+ experience when available from Microsoft.
Alongside the new OmniBook Ultra, HP has announced the HP Omnistudio X 27- and 31.5-inch all-in-one desktop PCs. These include the built-in AI experiences too inside and all in one PC which includes USB-C connectivity, a height-adjustable stand and a 4K screen.
The HP OmniBook Ultra 14-inch Next Gen AI PC will be available late September on HP.com, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman for a starting price of $2,999.
The HP OmniStudio X 27- and 31.5-inch All-In-One Desktop PCs will roll onto HP.com early October for a starting price of $2,699.
