Is the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold coming to Australia? The local Google Store suggests so! **Update: Fold Video included**

We were all excited last year when Google announced their Pixel Fold but unfortunately, we were left disappointed when it did not officially land on our shores. Of course, that hasn’t stopped us from hoping and crossing our fingers that the next one does.

In the most positive sign we’ve seen to date, it seems that this year the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold — as it is now apparently going to be known as — will be available in Australia. Over on the Australian website there is a landing page to sign up for the Pixel 9 Pro, scroll down just a little bit and you’ll see the image and name of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Yes, the website is the Australian site and although it may just be a generic page worldwide, it is unlikely in our opinion. The Google Store has always been region specific with only devices sold in that particular region appearing on the local page. If you want to see it for yourself, head on over to https://store.google.com/au/magazine/google_pixel_9_pro?hl=en-GB .

Google has officially shown us what the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will look like as we reported this morning with a big focus of this years devices from Google being their AI, Gemini. We haven’t seen a Pixel 9 nor a Pixel 9 Pro XL suggesting that the XL will once again not make an appearance and that the 9 is a dumbed down version of the 9 Pro.

****UPDATE**** Google has published a video of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It doesn’t show us that much but boy is it enticing. See below for the new video:

All will become clear in just under three weeks time on August 13 (early morning on the 14th AEST) when Google host their Made By Google event — much earlier than it usually is.

I for one am looking forward to seeing the Google foldable in Australia but I’m not looking forward to explaining to the CFO why I need to fork out the premium price it will command.
