Samsung have announced their latest devices, launching the Galaxy S24 FE, as well as the Galaxy Tab S10 series, both launching on October 10th.
The Galaxy S24 FE, bringing a premium mobile experience and Galaxy AI to more users, while the Galaxy Tab S10 Series includes the Galaxy Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10+, Samsung’s first tablets purposefully built for AI.
Samsung’s Fan Edition (FE) devices have been quite popular since they were introduced, bringing the features of their premium lines at a more budget friendly price.
The Galaxy S24 FE will include a 6.7-inch FHD+ resolution AMOLED Display with 120Hz refresh, and is powered by an Exynos 2400e processor with 8GB of RAM and a 4,700mAh battery powering it. Samsung will be offering the Galaxy S24FE with either 128GB or 256GB of on-board storage.
Samsung has modelled the Galaxy S24 FE on their other Galaxy S devices, and will be launching the phone in three colours: Graphite, Blue and Mint.
Of course the Galaxy S24 FE includes fantastic cameras, with a 10MP selfie camera on the front, and 50MP main sensor, 12MP Ultra-Wide with 123˚ field of view, and 8MP Telephoto sensor with 3x Optical zoom on the rear.
Samsung will use their ProVisual engine on the Galaxy S24 FE camera system, bringing improved night photography, improved zoom and HDR. Samsung is also including their latest generative editing options powered by AI including Generative editing, Portrait Studio, reflection removals and even slow-mo.
The phone will run Android 14 with One UI 6.1 which includes seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. The Samsung software includes many of the AI features we saw launching earlier this year including Circle To Search, Live Translate in 16 languages (20 by the end of the year), Chat Assist and loads more.
SeaYoung Lee, Corporate EVP and Head of the Smartphone Research and Development team at Samsung Electronics said
“We want everyone to enjoy all the benefits of our latest mobile innovations. Galaxy AI opens so many new experiences for users, helping them communicate, and be more creative and productive. Galaxy S24 FE makes the powerful performance and premium Galaxy AI capabilities of the S24 series available to even more people.”
The Galaxy S24 FE will be arriving in Australia on October 10 for $1,099 and is up for pre-order today across select retailers – but check to see what deals you can get across carriers.
Samsung is also taking a step back into premium tablets, launching the Galaxy Tab S10 series in Australia.
The series includes premium hardware with the Galaxy Tab S10+ with a 12.4” AMOLED display, and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra with a massive 14.6” AMOLED display, with quad
speaker setup, making these tablets perfect for media consumption, and much more.
The tablets are powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ processor, which Samsung has rigorously tested and says shows an 18% increase in CPU, 28% increase in GPU, and 14% increase in NPU compared to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9+ models.
Samsung says the tablets will include 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage (with microSD support up to 1.5TB) – though the Ultra will also be offered in a 16GB/1TB model.
Unlike the Galaxy S24FE and it’s multiple colours, Samsung will only be launching the Galaxy Tab S10 series in one colour: Moonstone Grey.
The new processor will be powering the Galaxy AI included on the tablets, with the Galaxy Tab S10 Series getting a new Book Cover Keyboard which now includes a Galaxy AI Key for fast access.
You will also see AI in use on the included S Pen with Air Command with AI, which will help in using Galaxy AI features including Note Assist, Drawing Assist and Sketch to Image.
Just like the Galaxy S24 FE, the Galaxy Tab S10 series will be running Android 14 with Samsung continuing their software support and offering seven generations of OS Updates and seven years of security updates.
MC Lee, VP, Head of Galaxy Ecosystems Business Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics said
“The Galaxy Tab S10 series is Samsung’s first tablet built with AI enhancements available right out of the box, and it’s the latest addition to the Galaxy AI family. We’re proud to add to our seamless ecosystem of connected devices, bringing versatile experiences that only an AI tablet can offer through the Galaxy Tab S10 series’ blend of power and portability.”
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Series will be available from Oct 10. Pricing starts at $1799 for the Galaxy Tab S10+ Wifi, while the Tab S10 Ultra starts at $2,099 – and Samsung are throwing in a keyboard cover as a gift with purchase.
