HMD launches Detox Mode for Skyline smartphones helping you disconnect for your mental health

In time for World Mental Health day today, HMD have launched a new Detox Mode for their Skyline smartphone, offering an easy way to disconnect.

The update which is available on HMD Skyline handsets from today, brings the HMD Detox Mode which lets you take more control over the level of detox you want to have.

HMD Detox mode is easily accessible from the simple home screen widget, letting you quickly configure and start your digital Detox when you want.

The HMD Detox mode allows you to quickly set the length of your digital detox, as well as pick which apps, and contacts – including calls, texts or both – are silenced during your allotted quiet time. Once the digital detox mode kicks in, even your wallpaper will get a relaxing change with a calming tone.

You can configure your own detox, or choose to use the two pre-configured modes – Soft Lock or Hard Lock.

Soft Lock is for quick breaks, that let you jump in and out of digital detox as you see fit from the on-screen widget, letting you attend to really important notifications, or just to scratch that itch to check your favourite app hits.

Hard Lock though is serious business. The Hard Lock blocks you out from your device for either 12, 24 or 48 hours – or somewhere in between if you choose. Hard Lock eonly emulates a lockout though, so while you can get back in, there’s a couple o f steps which makes you take a few moments of reflection, so you can really think about the need to use your phone before you do it.

The Update is available now for the HMD Skyline. If you want to check it out, it’s on-sale in Australia now for a RRP of $899 at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks (online only), Amazon (online only) and Big W (online only). You can also check out Trevor’s review of the HMD Skyline here.
