Amaysim buys Circles Life – consolidating further the Aussie mobile market

150,000 customers of Circles Life have just become customers of Amaysim customer after the little brand that could adds those customers to it’s almost 2 million customer count under the Optus umbrella.

Amaysim itself started as a low-cost MVNO using the Optus network but was purchased by Optus in 2021 to make it the “low cost carrier” of the telco brand.

Having already purchased Ovo and Vaya in recent years, Circles Life adds a strong customer base to Amaysim pushing it closer to the two million mark, challenging Telstra’s new acquisition Boost Mobile as the biggest non-network brand in Australia.

Vir Nath, VP of amaysim, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Circles Life customers to the amaysim family. This acquisition not only strengthens our position in the Australian telco market but also enables us to offer more Aussies the same customer-centricity, exceptional value, and outstanding customer service that define amaysim. As Circles Life customers transition to amaysim plans over the coming months, they can look forward to accessing additional features, including 5G, unlimited data banking, and a dedicated customer service team.”

At the big parent brand Optus, Sachin Gupta, Managing Director, Strategic Portfolio “Since becoming part of the Optus family in 2021, amaysim has demonstrated a strong focus on growing its customer base, supported by strategic acquisitions including Circles Life, Ovo and Vaya in recent years. We remain committed to identifying and pursuing similar opportunities that align with the company’s growth strategy.”

Circles Life customers shouldn’t need to do anything, but expect to be upsold on other Amaysim products like NBN plans as time rolls on.
