ASUS unveils a new range of Copilot+ PCs including the stunning Zenbook A14 with Ceraluminum chassis

At CES this morning, ASUS unveiled their range of consumer devices including a new range of Copilot+ PCs with AI experiences, alongside new desktops and more.

The announcement saw the launch of the Zenbook A14, a new thin and light notebook using an all-new ceraluminum chassis. ASUS is also launching more affordable Vivobook 14/16 laptops, bringing the AI experience to more price points.

ASUS have also announced a new Expertbook B5 in their commercial Windows 11 Pro PC lineup, as well as the ExpertCentre B900 series, the first in their line of commercial desktops with AI from ASUS.

Anyone who enjoys the NUC form factor will be pleased to see the new NUC 15 Pro series, as well as the ASUS ExpertCenter PN54, the first and only AMD powered ASUS AI Mini PC.

Zenbook A14

First cab of the rank is the gorgeous Zenbook A14, the first in the line running the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

At just under 1kg, the Zenbook A14 is the world’s lightest Copilot+ PC says ASUS, with the Ceraluminum process – previously only applied to the lid of their laptops – now infused throughout the chassis, including the lower deck as well.

This material is light, yet durable and staves off those wear marks and scratches that pop up with every day use. ASUS says they’ll launch it in two colours, Iceland Gray and Zabriskie Beige.

The Zenbook A14 will be offered with a 14” LUMINA OLED or IPS panel and is powered by the latest Snapdragon X series processors. The Snapdragon X is paired with the Hexagon NPU offering up to 45 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS), powering the Microsoft Copilot+ experience.

The ARM based processors will be cooled by dual fans, offering efficient thermal performance when in use.

As we’ve seen previously with other Copilot+ PCs, we can expect excellent battery life, with ASUS promising the 70Wh battery is capable of over 32 hours of use.

ASUS is promising a full range of I/O so you can connect all your essential devices, and we’ll be very keen to check this out when it launches.

At this stage we don’t have any release information – but ASUS has announced an $899 USD (around $1430AUD) price tag, so we’ll have to see how that translates when it launches here.

Vivobook

The latest Copilot+ PCs in the Vivobook range include the Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16, powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor.

The Snapdragon X processor includes 45 TOPS from the NPU, powering the Copilot+ experience and more. It also allows the laptop to eke out almost 20 hours of battery life.

Along with the Copilot+ experience, powering experiences like Cocreator in MSPaint to refine your artwork, ASUS also includes their StoryCube application for categorising files based on content, and Live Captions for real-time accurate subtitles.

AI will also impact presence detection, with the laptop sensing when you walk away and locking it automatically – resuming when you return.

The Vivobook 14 and 16 will come in two colours: Cool Silver and Quite Blue, with the Vivobook 14 also picking up a bonus Platinum Gold colour option. That body will have full I/O with dual USB4 (Type-C) and dual USB 3.2 (Type-A) ports,  as well as HDMI and a combo audio jack for full connectivity.

As far as launch dates go, ASUS haven’t announced any dates for Australia as yet but they’re available to pre-order in the US, with prices starting at $699 USD (around $1,115 AUD).

NUC

After taking over the Intel NUC line last year, ASUS have taken the miniPC form-factor and run with it. This year we’re seeing the Intel NUC 15 Pro (and Pro+) Mini PC and NUC 14 Pro AI+.

The NUC 15 Pro is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor (series 2) and features a space-saving design perfect for business environments. There’s also an option for a NUC 15 Pro+, which ramps up the power to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor (Series 2).

Both the NUC 15 Pro and NUC 15 Pro+ include options for up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM and come with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. They also include a wide range of I/O including 2.5G Ethernet, USB4 (Type-C), USB Type-A ports and HDMI.

The chassis has a tool-less design and can support up to four 4K displays with military grade durability.

The NUC 14 Pro AI+ mini PC is a pretty neat looking device with a semi-transparent chassis that has a dedicated E-ink display giving you some unique personalisation options, as well as a dedicated Copilot button on the top and built-in microphone for instant access to AI.

The unit includes up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processor (Series 2) and DDR5 RAM with support for M.2 2280 NVMe drives. The unit includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity and has a range of Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) and USB Type-A ports, as well as dedicated 2.5G ethernet.

Unfortunately no pricing or release info on the ASUS NUC range, but we’ll see how we go in the coming months.

Expert

ASUS has also unveiled a number of commercial offerings including the Expertbook B5 and Expertbook B3, as well as the ExpertCentre B900. ASUS has also announced the ExpertCenter PN54 mini PC.

The Experbook B5 and Expertbook B3 are designed for commercial use, and come with highly configurable options with up to Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) – offering a customer friendly option to spec up your machine.

The laptops include options up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM with a number of SSD options available.

All units include Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for security, and include ASUS Business manager and Control Centre to help streamline your IT management.

The ExpertCentre B900 will be ASUS’ first foray into commercial AI desktops, with the new Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors under the hood, including an NPU for AI tasks.

The desktops will be offered with a variety of configurations, and come with enterprise-grade security options including the Intel vPro Enterprise, TPM 2.0 and BIOS and Hard Drive passwords.

The physical security is guaranteed with a Kensington lock slot – and the case includes durable MIL-Spec (MIL-STD-810H) certification so you can place it in ‘challenging’ areas. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello.

ASUS’ first AMD powered mini PC – the ExpertCenter PN54 Mini PC – is powered by the recently announced AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor which includes an NPU capable of 45+ TOPS.

The chassis includes a tool-less design, making it easy to upgrade the storage and memory at any time. The box itself includes 6 USB ports, dual 2.5G LAN ports and Bluetooth 5.4 + WiFi 7 for wireless connectivity – there’s also a microphone for voice commands.
