OPPO unveils the Reno13 smartphone series with all three models on their way to Australia next month

Today in Milan, OPPO unveiled its Reno13 series of phones, which includes three models that will all be available in Australia this year. The three models, the Reno13 Pro 5G ($1,299), Reno13 5G ($899), and Reno13 F 5G ($599), offer cutting-edge AI features and powerful performance at three affordable price points.

Michael Tran, OPPO Australia’s Managing Director, was front and centre, delivering the global keynote, shared: “This is the Reno Series like you’ve never seen it before. With the technology inside, there’s absolutely nothing ‘mid’ about these smartphones. We’re packing 5,800mAh and 5,600mAh batteries, up to 80W flash charging, an IP69 rating, advanced camera systems, and an entire suite of AI features. Starting from $599, this isn’t just a new era for the Reno Series; it’s a new standard for the mid-range category.”

The Reno13 series, like its predecessors, is designed to impress. The Reno13 Pro 5G and the Reno13 5G feature a one-piece sculpted glass back with an aluminium frame. Both have a 120Hz refresh rate 1.5K OLED display with extremely small bezels. They are available in stylish colourways, including Plume Purple, Graphite Gray, Luminous Blue, and Plume White.

The entire Reno13 series is not only durable but also arrives with IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing for creativity in conditions and places not usually explorable with your smartphone. The series supports underwater photo and video recording and features a dedicated Underwater Mode to allow for distortion-free photos and videos underwater.

As with last year’s Reno series, the Reno13 series aims to allow for creative, high-quality photography by combining AI features with advanced camera systems.

The Reno13 Pro 5G sports a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera (Sony IMX890), a 50MP Telephoto Camera with 3.5x optical zoom, an 8MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Selfie Camera.  Both the front and rear cameras of these two Reno13 devices support 4K Ultra-Clear video recording.

OPPO’s Reno13 series includes AI Livephoto, which minimises frame drops while enhancing image sharpness to produce clear, high-definition images.  Other AI features are AI Motion, AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover.  Non-camera/photo AI features include AI Multi-Cooling System, which keeps the phone cooler under high loads, and AI LinkBoost 2.0, which improves connectivity.

The Reno13 Pro 5G and the Reno13 5G deliver long battery life with  5,800mAh and 5,600mAh batteries respectively and include support for OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.  The Reno13 F 5G, on the other hand, includes a big 5,800mAh battery with OPPO’s 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
