Netgear release an addition to their Wi-Fi 7 home networking lineup with the Orbi 870 Series Mesh System

Netgear has announced that joining the Orbi 770 and the Orbi 970 systems as part of their Wi-Fi 7 home networking portfolio will be the Orbi 870, offering more choice to customers and allowing them to choose the solution that best fits their needs.

The Orbi 870 specifications include:

  • Ultra-Fast WiFi 7 Tri-Band Speeds up to 21 Gbps
  • Higher capacity and robust Wi-Fi — as part of the Wi-Fi 7 technology improvements
  • Multi-link operation — two Wi-Fi bands can be combined at once for improved backhaul and fronthaul, improving network reliability, latency and speeds.
  • 10 Gig Internet Port — the 10 Gig port can be used for multi-Gig cable and fibre plans.
  • Do It All with the Orbi App — the Orbi app allows you to manage your network from anywhere

All Netgear routers include standard security features such as automatic firmware updates, VPN support, cutting-edge WPA3 security, access control, and guest and IoT WiFi network options.  The Orbi 870 also includes Netgear’s Advanced Router Protection feature to protect the router from threats using AI and advanced exploit prevention.

It also enables the ability to quickly apply live patches for threats without having to wait for firmware updates to be rolled out. The Orbi 870 series also includes a 30-day trial of NETGEAR Armor™ Powered by Bitdefender to provide an additional automatic shield of security for connected devices and added privacy with VPN.

The Netgear Orbi 870 series also includes Smart Parental Controls to manage your kids’ time online. Some features of the app require a premium subscription.

Availability

The Orbi 870 is available in white on NETGEAR.com.au and at other major retailers. To learn more about the Orbi 870 and other Orbi mesh systems, visit  NETGEAR.com/au.
