LG announce pre-order promotion on new 2025 UltraGear gaming monitors

LG are expanding their UltraGear gaming monitor line-up with the launch of new OLED and IPS displays.

The new range includes their massive 45-inch OLED 5K2K display, as well as 39” and 34” curved OLED panes, and a 4K Nano IPS display, with LG offering gamers 25% off when they pre-order any of these displays before April 24th. 

The big announcement is the new LG UltraGear 45-inch OLED Dual-Mode 5K2K Gaming Monitor (45GX950A-B.AAU) ‘the world’s first 45-inch 5K2K OLED display’, says LG with a 34% wider view than standard 16:9 displays with a 33% increase in pixel count over UHD. 

The curved display has an 800r curvature, with the OLED panel delivering the vivid colours and deep blacks we’ve come to expect from LG OLED displays.

The monitor has a 0.03ms Grey-to-Grey (GtG) response with dual-mode refresh rate, switching from WUHD (5120×2160) resolution at 165Hz to WFHD (2560×1080) resolution at 330Hz, letting you focus on resolution or performance. The monitor also supports FreeSync Premium Pro and is NVIDIA G-Sync compatible to further improve your experience. 

The monitor includes eight dual-mode options accessible through physical hotkey or keyboard shortcut. The modes also let you easily switch to your favourite screen size or aspect ratio (21:9, 16:9) with the On-Screen Display.

There’s two 10W speakers on-board, as well as a 4-pole headphone out so you can enjoy 3D audio with DTS Headphone:X.

Connectivity wise, there’s HDMI 2.1 and Display Port 2.1 ports, as well as a USB-C port for upstream/downstream connectivity and support for 90W PD charging. 

The monitor will be priced at $3,499 RRP, but it’s dropped 25% to just $2,624.25 for the pre-order window. 

Also available is the 34-inch (34GX90SA-W.AAU) and 39-inch OLED 240Hz WQHD Curved Smart Gaming Monitors.

These curved OLED displays come in 34-inch and 39-inch display sizes with 4K UHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and 240Hz refresh rate with 0.03ms (GtG) response time, as well as support for AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA GSync for a smooth, clear gaming experience.

While they look like brilliant gaming monitors in their own right, they also run LG’s webOS platform, letting you enjoy all your streaming services and apps when you’re not gaming.

The monitor has dual-mode refresh rate, offering a switch between 4K resolution at 240Hz to FHD resolution at an astonishingly high 480Hz. It has a 1ms GtG response, with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVidia GSync.

LG is including dual HDMI 2.1 ports on their IPS display, as well as a DisplayPort 2.1 connector, and while there’s no on-board speakers, there’s a 4-pole headphone out with support for virtual 3D sound with DTS Headphone:X.
