Hold onto your hats, there’s a new Polaroid camera heading our way, with the Polaroid Flip – Polaroid’s newest instant camera, heading to stores next month.
The Polaroid Flip is all about ‘making moments tangible’, slowing down to frame and capture a shot you can keep rather than losing it somewhere in your camera roll.
The familiar design includes the iconic red shutter button and viewfinder on the rear with a flip-up lid that houses a new flash which Polaroid says is their brightest yet, illuminating subjects up to 4.5m away.
The lid protects the hyper-focal 4-lens system which automatically selects the best one depending on distance to the subject, determined by the sonar autofocus which lets you get the right focus even in the dark. There’s a notification LED on the Viewfinder and Lid which alerts you when a shot is in-focus, as well power, how many exposures are left and more, ensuring you get the best shot and print it when you want.
While the focus is on the instant camera side, there’s also an app for Android and iOS which connects via Bluetooth offering bonus creative options including double exposure, a self-timer mode, and manual settings in the app which is available.
To print you’ll need to use the Polaroid i-Type and 600 film, which sets you back - for 8 shots – making you really focus on which shots you want to take.
It’s available in Black or White, and comes with a neck strap so you can keep it handy while out and about.
The Polaroid Flip will be available for purchase on Tuesday 13 May at leading tech and camera retailers including JB Hi Fi, Myer, WALKENS House of Film at a RRP of 9.
Daniel has been talking about, learning about and using tech since he was able to toggle switches and push buttons. If it flashes, turns on or off or connects he wants to use it, talk about it and learn more about it. Like this article? Buy me a coffee!
