Pizza Hut Australia celebrates its 55th birthday with a massive 12 week long giveaway

Believe it or not Pizza Hut is celebrating 55 years in Australia and haven’t they changed in that time?

In the olden days it was always a special treat to visit those uniquely shaped stores with the red booths and red/white chequered table cloths and dine in on a feast of this amazing new concept called pizza.

So much has changed since those early days when the first store opened in Belfield in Sydney’s suburbs back in 1970. Pizza Hut now operate nearly 300 restaurants and employs over 9,000 employees and who would have imagined back then ordering pizzas from a device in the palm of your hand, paying without cash and having someone deliver it to you.

The only thing better than that is to get your order for free. That has become a reality for lucky users of the Pizza Hut app as the restaurant chain kick off their 55,000 menu items for free promotion. Pizza Hut describe the promotion as a “3 month- long food fest where every Aussie can unlock a daily chance to score free menu items from the comfort of their bed, couch or commute home”

Even if you aren’t one of the lucky winners of free food, they promise that app users can enjoy exclusive offers from Pizza to Garlic Bread, from Wings to Choc Lava Cakes.

Pizza Hut Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Wendy Leung commented, “To celebrate 55 years of Pizza Hut in Australia, we wanted to do something truly memorable by giving Aussies what they really want. This is our biggest ever App giveaway, designed to be simple and rewarding. By downloading the app and checking in daily, customers have the chance to enjoy free menu items throughout the 12-week celebration.”

The Pizza Hut promotion started this week and runs for 12 weeks in total. That’s an average of more than 650 free items a day so why not download the app and try your luck?
