Apple introduce the AirPods Pro 3 with the best noise cancellation ever

At Cupertino today, Apple has introduced the next generation of its AirPods Pro line, the AirPods Pro 3, with a new design and improved features.

The AirPods Pro 3 enhance their already impressive sound quality, featuring a new architecture that controls the airflow carrying sound into the ear, resulting in an even more immersive spatial listening experience. The soundstage is widened with a new bass response thanks to the new architecture and improved clarity of vocals and higher frequencies.

Alongside the exceptional sound quality is the “world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones” thanks to new ultra-low noise microphones and advanced computational audio. The new design includes new foam-infused eartips to improve passive noise isolation. The ANC is so effective that it is twice as effective as AirPods Pro 2 and removes four times more noise compared to the original AirPods Pro.

The new foam-infused eartips now come in five different sizes, with an all-new XXS size, for those with tiny ears.

“With AirPods Pro 3, the most popular headphones take a massive leap forward, providing fantastic sound quality and the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Combined with an improved fit that provides greater stability for even more people, heart rate sensing, extended battery life, and Live Translation enabled by Apple Intelligence, AirPods Pro 3 take personal audio to the next level.”

The new AirPods Pro 3 are ideal for your workout, featuring an IP57 sweat and water resistance rating and providing eight hours of continuous playback on a single charge. For those seeking in-depth training data, the new in-ear headphones feature a custom-built heart rate sensor and a custom photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor that emits invisible infrared light, pulsed at 256 times per second, to measure light absorption in blood flow. Combined with other sensors such as accelerometers, a gyroscope, GPS, and the new on-device AI model on iPhone, users can access a fully integrated and immersive workout experience.

The big deal this year is the new Live Translation feature coming to AirPods Pro 3. Live Translation enables in-person communication across select languages and is powered by computational audio and Apple Intelligence. The new feature is integrated into the iPhone experience, offering an option to use your iPhone as a horizontal display.

Live Translation on AirPods is available in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, and will be coming to four more languages by the end of the year: Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified).
