ECOVACS has taken their floor cleaning products to a new level today with the announcement of the DEEBOT T80 OMNI featuring the ‘revolutionary’ OZMO ROLLER – and we’ve been testing it out here at EFTM.
The new DEEBOT T80 OMNI has been cleaning our floors for the last few days, showcasing not just the OZMO ROLLER but also its powerful 18,000Pa suction and ZeroTangle 3.0 Anti-tangle technology.
The sleek and stylish OMNI base station features Temperature-Controlled Hot Water Mop Washing 2.0, allowing for adjustable washing temperatures based on room type and level of dirtiness. After washing, the docking station dries the mop at 45°C in just two hours to prevent it from stinking up your house.
The mapping and navigation are performed using AIVI 3D 3.0 technology, which allows the robot to adapt to its surroundings and clean as efficiently as possible.
The DEEBOT T80 OMNI also features a security camera, allowing you to remotely view your household and control the vacuum’s movement around your house.
“By combining innovations like the OZMO ROLLER Mopping Technology and ZeroTangle 3.0, we’ve created a DEEBOT that not only handles the toughest stains but also keeps itself clean and tangle-free. We’re proud to partner exclusively with Harvey Norman to bring the DEEBOT T80 OMNI, one that really ‘rolls like a pro’, to households across Australia.”
Karen Powell, Director of ECOVACS ANZ.
The big ticket item though, is the new OZMO ROLLER, which combines 3,700Pa suction power with a 200-rpm roller speed to wipe clean the most difficult of spills and stains. The roller allows the vacuum to apply 16 times the pressure to the floors while mopping, enhancing the mopping process.
The OZMO ROLLER extends out past the sides of the vacuum to deliver more coverage in a shorter time. This technology, combined with an enhanced sensory algorithm and 3D Edge Sensor, allows it to clean right up the corners and edges of your flooring.
Setup and mapping
The setup is getting easier and easier with these robot vacuums and the DEEBOT T80 OMNI is no exception. Simply scan the barcode under the lid of the vacuum from within the app and the setup will proceed.
Mapping the house is incredibly fast and simple with the app prompting you to do so once you have set up the vacuum. Then, you can rename, split, or combine rooms, create boundaries or no-go zones, and add materials and more.
The settings within the app are extensive, allowing you to schedule cleans, change the strength of the clean, and a lot more. Most vacuums include this these days.
ECOVACS has introduced the ability to switch to an AI-driven clean mode, where the vacuum generates customised cleaning parameters based on your habits, room types, and floor materials. This way it can adjust to what is actually needed.
The vacuum will also use an intelligent deep mopping feature to re-mop areas when the vacuum determines they are dirty.
How long does it take?
The clean is a really good, efficient and effective deep clean but boy does it take a while. The vacuum continually heads back to the base station for hot water for that heated mopping, and as such, the vacuum can take a few hours depending on your floor type and size.
So, while your floor will be spotless, be aware that it takes time to do it well. I put this down to the OZMO ROLLER feature because it doesn’t cover quite as wide as a standard mop on one of these does but it is much better at stubborn spills. It cleaned everything I threw at it really well, mopping better than any other robot vacuum I have used previously.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI has a recommended retail price of AUD
