LG’s next-gen StanbyMe 2 portable display is coming to Australia with improvements all round

Building on the success of their original innovative portable display display, LG has announced the StanbyME 2 which will arrive in Australia later this month.

The StanbyME 2 brings new features to the portable display, with the 27” touch display now capable of QHD resolution for improved picture quality and will last longer with four hours of battery life.

The new StanbyMe 2 will feature a more versatile system for use, with the rolling display able to be rotated 90°, or now detached from the stand and mounted on a wall, carried around in a new folio cover included with the display or just used on a table for game night.

The portable display includes Dolby Vision support, as well as Dolby Atmos, with the LG Alpha 8 AI processer powering more features including AI driven immersive virtual 9.1.2-channel sound from speakers positioned on the sides of the screen.

LG has also introduced a new magnetic area on the side of the display so you don’t lose the remote when not in use – a handy update for anyone who’s used a portable display.

The StanbyMe 2 is powered by WebOS, which includes five years of updates, and includes access to all the latest local and international streaming apps, letting you use this portable display anywhere to catch up on your latest series or movies. It also includes HDMI and USB inputs so you can even take a DVD player or your game console with you.

The touch display supports the pre-loaded drawing application, Let’s Draw for a bit of fun around the table in its new detached mode. The StanbyMe 2 can also display a range of pre-loaded content including art posters, music turntable skins and calming nature scenes or a digital clock.

Tony Brown, General Manager, Entertainment & Content Business at LG Electronics ANZ, commented:

“At LG, we aim to provide our customers with innovations that enhance how they enjoy their favourite content. We recognise the growing demand for technology that adapts to modern viewing habits and flexible living environments and that’s why we engineered the StanbyME 2. It delivers practical portability while maintaining the premium viewing experiences LG is known for.

It’s designed to be a versatile companion for modern homes – a flexible screen solution that easily integrates into different aspects of the day, ensuring entertainment is both convenient and high-quality.”
