Logitech has unveiled a range of new accessories at their global G Play event, with local showcases taking centre stage here at Fortress Melbourne. The event is a chance to show off both new gear, as well as highlighting partners and creators and giving fans a chance to get hands-on with the latest gear.
The highlight is of course new gadgets and gear, with new Astro A20 X and G321 Lightspeed headsets, new slimline RAPID version of the G515 TKL keyboard, G Pro X Superlight 2c mouse and….a one last thing, the upcoming Logitech G SUPERSTRIKE – a next-generation gaming mouse built for ultimate speed and precision.
Logitech have taken the dock based system introduced on their Astro A50 X headset, which allowed you to connect and control multiple consoles from the headset. The new Astro A20 X takes this concept, scales it down to a more budget friendly price with just a few trade-offs.
The Astro A20 X will use USB-C connectivity rather than HDMI, and will only connect two devices at a time. The headset does include 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless as well as Bluetooth connectivity as well to complement the wired connection.
The lightweight headset uses quality components, though weighs in at under 300 grams, with a battery that can last up to 70 hours.
The headset does include the same 48KHz high resolution microphone from the Astro A50 X which can be flicked up to mute if required.
The Logitech G Astro A20 X should be hitting Australian shores mid-October for $349.
For the more budget conscious gamer who just wants to jump into an online game with some friends, the Logitech G321 Lightspeed Gaming Headset gives you just that option.
This headset is engineered for comfort, with 15mm of thick padding across the headband and 21mm memory foam on each ear cup which is wrapped in a high-elasticity knit fabric.
The G321 headset includes both LIGHTSPEED wireless and Bluetooth for connectivity, with a 16kHz flip-to-mute boom mic included to ensure crystal clear audio each way.
Logitech has confirmed we’ll be seeing the new G321 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset in Australia in either Black or White colour options for $129.95.
Logitech has also updated their compact G515 TKL (TenKeyLess – no keypad) keyboard with a new ultra-slim, high performance option bringing faster gaming.
The new low profile G515 RAPID TKL includes faster, analogue low-profile switches with the option to fine-tune actuation from just 0.1-2.5mm, as well as giving you multi-point action mapping to allow you dual key action to assign two moves to one key.
The keyboard includes RGB LightSync with shine through dual-shot PBT Keycaps, including two-tone keycaps on the WASD keys.
The keyboard comes in black or white colour options, though each includes a premium stainless steel plate topping off a multi-layer sound dampening build.
The Logitech G515 RAPID TKL will be hitting Australian stores for $329.95 and we’re keen to check this one out when it hits.
If you’re buying a new keyboard, the new LOGITECH G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2c is the perfect complement, a compact, ultralight gaming mouse.
This updated version of the Superlight 2 offers all the same performance, visual and comfort qualities – just in a smaller size for those who prefer a lighter grip, or have a smaller hand size.
The mouse weighs in at just 51 grams making it super-light, yet still packs in over 95 hours of battery life from a charge.
We’ll be seeing the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2C when it lands in Australia soon for $299.95.
Last but by no means least is Logitech’s ‘one more thing’ at their G Play event, the announcement of the upcoming Logitech G SUPERSTRIKE gaming mouse.
This next-generation mouse is a ‘clean-sheet’ design and has been built for ‘ultimate speed and precision’ and brings the industry’s first Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS) which does away with traditional switches and replaces them with inductive analog sensing – which Logitech says can cut click latency by up to 30 ms.
The mouse will include 10 adjustable actuation points and 5 rapid-trigger reset points, with a real-time haptic engine replacing the traditional ‘click’ of a switch – with the haptic intensity fully tunable in G HUB.
This super-cool next-gen mouse is due to hit stores next year in Q1, so stay tuned for more.
