Spotify Wrapped, Google Trends now Vodafone Unwrapped – the Telco is digging into their data and call logs to reveal just how active we’ve been on our phones this year!
A Vodafone spokesperson said “Vodafone Unwrapped is a fascinating look at how Australia connects. The numbers show Aussies love staying in touch over our mobile network which doubled in size this year, now covering more than one million square kilometres.
“In 2025, customers sent 6.7 billion texts and placed nearly 4 billion calls. Thursdays were the nation’s biggest messaging day, while October topped the charts for phone calls in the lead up to the holiday season.”
Huge numbers, but take a look at the breakdown they have with calls vs texts vs data!
Just shy of 4 BILLION CALLS! Wow! If you took all the calls and put them together it would be a call 18,955 years long!
| State | Total number of phone calls in 2025 | Total Number of hours on the phone in 2025 | Hours to years conversion in 2025 |
| NSW | 2,052,341,084 | 65,846,312 | 7,516 |
| VIC | 852,790,740 | 45,581,448 | 5,203 |

| National | 3,910,174,175 | 166,050,942 | 18,955 |
Not sure i’d have gotten close to guessing that the number was nearly 7 billion in one year.
Now assuming this is 11 months of data, that works at at something likle 14,000 text messages EVERY MINUTE! 233 messages every second!
| State | Total Number of SMS in 2025 | Busiest day of the week to send SMS | Average Text messages per minute in 2025 |
| NSW | 2,477,824,837 | Thursday | 4,714 |
| VIC | 1,579,026,525 | Thursday | 3,004 |
| QLD | 1,262,697,911 | Thursday | 2,402 |

| NT | 23,398,586 | Thursday | 44 |
| National | 6,733,456,946 | Thursday | 12,811 |
Ok, so get this – 849,400,180Gigabytes of data consumed – a new record on the Vodafone network.
Let me go old school on you here, if that data was on Floppy disks, we’d need 589,305,694,444 Floppy Disks – that’s 589 Billion.
Stack them all on top of each other, they’d tower five times past the moon at 1.94 million km high!
