Edifier’s R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers offer modern functionality in a classic style

Edifier are launching its best-selling bookshelf speakers, the R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers, in Australia and for those looking to add some decent sound to their space without breaking the bank, these could be for you.

Available at Officeworks, online, and in-store for $199, the Edifier R1280DB are available in a classic brown or black wooden finish and a more modern silver-white finish.

Not only do the new Edifier speakers support Bluetooth, but they also have digital optical and coaxial inputs for those who want old-school connectivity. The R1280DB is the upgraded version of the R1280, and features more inputs, concise onboard controls and a new wireless remote control.

As expected from Edifier, the R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers deliver high-quality sound through a 4-inch bass woofer and 13-mm silk-dome tweeters in each speaker. The frequency response is widened from previous versions, with increased power now up to 42W.

The speakers can be used to upgrade your home theatre, thanks to Edifier’s Soundfield Spatialiser mode, which simulates a larger sound stage, while the optical and coaxial digital inputs offer lossless audio connectivity to support high-definition audio.

With Bluetooth 5.0 support, you can easily stream any device to the speakers wirelessly and the knobs onboard can be used to adjust the sound stage — or you could use the new streamlined remote control.

Best of all, the Edifiers R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers offer premium sound quality at a highly affordable RRP AU$199, available now from Officeworks — and appear to be priced at $159 should you get in quick.
