Cricut Unveils Next-Gen Joy 2 and Explore 5 for Australian Makers with Essential Bundles to get you making faster

DIY maker Cricut has announced the next-generation of their innovative cutting machines with the launch of the  Cricut Joy 2 and Cricut Explore 5 which are launching in Australia next month.

The Cricut Joy 2 and Cricut Explore 5 will be available from March 6th from a range of retailers.

The compact Cricut Joy 2 comes in a fun 2-way colourway, and will take care of your simpler projects like cutting custom cards, labels, simple decals – with the 2nd generation Cricut Joy also now able to cut full-colour stickers thanks to its all-new Print Then Cut sensor.

The larger Cricut Explore 5 comes in a more neutral taupe colourway. The unit is 30% smaller than the previous generation without losing any of the performance or capability.

You can cut everything you could ever want on the Cricut Explore 5, with support for cutting vinyl decals, making custom clothing, full-colour stickers, cards, wedding and party decor, and specialty projects like magnets.

The Explorer 5 is compatible with up to six tools, and now includes an improved writing and drawing experience, which includes snap-in pen loading and a streamlined interface.

These two new models are the first wave of a new era, which Cricut says will see ‘sleeker designs, an elevated out-of-box experience with more materials and tools included, and an improved guided user experience in Design Space’.

Ashish Arora, CEO at Cricut said

Our users have consistently told us they want products that are easier to use and more affordable. We listened and simplified the entire experience end-to-end.

From the moment they open the box, everything required to be successful is included. We guide them through a reimagined onboarding and design experience with intuitive, guided flows that take the guesswork out of making and make it easier than ever to go from idea to finished project with confidence.”

As part of the new approach with the next generation, both Cricut Joy 2 and Cricut Explore 5 will be sold as what Cricut are calling an ‘Essential Bundle’. This bundle includes all the ‘must-have tools’, as well as accessories, and even a range of samples of popular materials so you’re ready to go straight out of the box.

The Cricut Joy 2 and Cricut Explore 5 Esssential Bundles will be available from March 6th.

The Cricut Joy 2 will be priced at $249 at Spotlight, Officeworks, and BIG W, while the Cricut Explore 5 will be priced at $449 and be available through Spotlight, Harvey Norman, and Officeworks.
