Motorola make the razr fold official, alongside edge 70 fusion and new moto buds 2

Over in Barcelona, Mobile World Congress has begun and Motorola have kicked off the show with a new range of phones and earbuds, headlined by the motorola razr fold – Motorola’s first book-style foldable smartphone first teased at CES.

The announcement also includes the new motorola edge 70 fusion, and the new moto buds 2 and moto buds 2 plus.

The headline is of course about the razr fold, which will come with a 6.6″ external display that can fold out to a larger 8.1″ 2K LTPO internal display.

The display supports an adaptive interface using the moto pen ultra stylus which can help navigate seamlessly around the OS, as well as take notes, sketch ideas and switch between apps.

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is running the show, with 16GB Of RAM and 512GB of storage. A large 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery is included with support for 80W Turbopower charging.

The camera setup includes a 20MP outer and 32MP inner front-facing cameras, with a 50MP main camera and 50MP telephoto camera with 3x Optical zoom using Sony LYTIA main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera with macro support.

The phone will come in two colours: Lily White and Blackened Blue

We haven’t got confirmation on the razr fold launching in Australia as yet, however Motorola Australia have advised that ‘Local availability is to be announced soon’, so hopefully we won’t be waiting too long.

If foldables still aren’t for you, the motorola edge 70 fusion has also been shown off, with the phone bringing a blend of elegance, comfort and durability says Motorola.

The phone includes IP69 and IP68 protection, MIL-STD-810H certification and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i offering a phone that can follow you on just about any adventure.

It looks the business, and comes with a 6.8”Extreme 1.5K Super HD resolution  AMOLED display in a range of Pantone colourways – all of which look great.

Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile platform, the phone also includes a 5200mAh battery that can last up to 39 hours, and supports 68W turbo charging to get you back on the road faster.

The phone comes with a triple rear camera system including a 50MP Sony LYTIA™ 710 main sensor with OIS, 13MP ultrawide + Macro camera, with a 32MP selfie camera embedded in the display.

Lastly, the moto buds 2 and moto buds 2 plus have been announced.

The moto buds 2 are aimed at a younger, entry level crowd offering up Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) up to 55dB with up to 11 hours of playback with a total of 48 hours of battery life including the charge case.

The buds use dual 11mm Dynamic Drivers and 6mm Micro Planar magnetic drivers for sound, with support for hi-res audio.

The moto buds 2 plus bring a little something extra, with ‘Sound by Bose technology’ bringing improved depth of sound and detail.

The buds use 11mm drivers including ‘full-bodied bass’, with the Dynamic ANC utilising six on-board microphones to cut through ambient noise.

The buds include up to 9 hours of playback, with 40 hours in total with the charging case.

The moto buds 2 plus also include a neat trick: Audio Share, which lets you connect two pairs of the buds to your defvice so you can enjoy the same music, movie, podcast and more with a friend.

At this stage we’ll find out more about local launch details from Motorola Australia as they become available, so stay tuned.
