The entry price of the Apple MacBook Air just jumped by $100 with the launch of the new MacBook Air with M5 today. Now while Samsung blamed chip prices and demand, Apple can rightly assert that this price rise is justified by a doubling of the standard storage on MacBook Air – now 512GB on a faster SSD.
At $1,799 it’s still a solid entry price for a Mac and with the latest M5 process it’s now more powerful than ever.

Available in the same four colours, Light Blue, Starlight, Silver and Midnight this is another “under the hood” upgrade from Apple to keep the MacBook Air lineup at the cutting edge of the company’s silicone offering.
Also now featuring the Apple N1 wireless chip also brings WiFi 7, up from 6E on the previous model.
MacBook Air with M5 is on pre-order from tomorrow, and is available March 11.
