Razer release the Pro Type Ergo, an ergonomic keyboard with all its signature style

Last year Razer released its Pro Click ergonomic gaming mice with an eye also to productivity.  Now it has also released a keyboard with a similar focus, the Pro Type Ergo.

The new wireless keyboard from Razer offers a split-ergonomic layout for hours of comfort at the desk, with “powerful workflow tools” at your fingertips for a shortcut to your daily grind.

Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division, said, “With Pro Type Ergo, we have taken the same performance-driven approach from our gaming keyboards and applied it to modern work. It keeps your hands and shoulders in a more natural position, reduces strain over long sessions, and bakes powerful controls like the Command Dial and AI Prompt Master straight into the keyboard. The result is less discomfort, fewer interruptions, and a faster path through everything you do, whether that is spreadsheets, code, or creative projects.

The split ergonomic layout provides a more natural alignment with minimal sideways movement, helping reduce strain during long periods of use.

The Pro Type Ergo offers tilt and angle adjustments to deliver an ergonomic feel that best suits you, your body, and your typing style.  The keyboard features a built-in wrist rest to provide support and relieve pressure on your arms even more.

The keyboard layout includes dual “B” keys, dual space keys, and a centre backspace key, enabling frequent actions to be performed much more comfortably.

The keycaps are ultra-low-profile, fingertip-shaped, with much shorter travel than on Razer’s gaming keyboards, delivering a more accurate and comfortable typing experience.

Also gone is the loud mechanical typing experience, replaced by a quiet one thanks to sound-dampening layers and stabilisers inside the keyboard.

The Pro Type Ergo features five macro keys, a dedicated mic-mute button and the Razer Command Dial built directly into the board.  These customisable functions can be adjusted using the Razer Synapse app.

AI Prompt Master enables quick, easy access to AI-powered actions with a single key, positioning AI as a workflow accelerator.

Connectivity-wise, the Pro Type Ergo supports Razer HyperSpeed Wireless (2.4 GHz), three Bluetooth profiles, and USB-C wired connections to your PC, allowing the keyboard to be used across multiple devices with the simple tap of a button.

It wouldn’t be a Razer product without Chroma RGB lighting with per-zone illumination possible to help visualise your typing locations and orientations.

The Razer Pro Type Ergo is available now for RRP $299.95 AUD / $369.95 NZD.
