The annual festival of lights, Vivid, is set to kick off in Sydney today and Samsung’s Sky Portal will be open for attendees to check out.
The Samsung Sky Portal is located in First Fleet Park near Circular Quay and will be open from 6pm for visitors to check out the activation.
Eric Chou, Vice President of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Australia said: “We’re excited to be back at Vivid Sydney. It’s the intersection of art and technology where Samsung truly comes alive, and this year’s actiavation exemplifies that. The Sky Portal Studio is an unmissable installation that invites every visitor to view the world differently, and to capture their vision through the lens of Galaxy S26 Ultra.”
The installation includes an interactive, multi-portal experience which will offer visitors ‘a glimpse into a version of the world that is more vivid, more connected, and more alive than the one you see with your eyes alone’.
The three portals include experiences which will let visitors test out the features of a Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The first portal, called the ‘Defy Gravity Portal’ will showcase the Horizontal Lock feature letting you use the phones gyroscope and accelerometer to track the shot and maintain a level, stabilised final shot.
The other portals include the ‘Unleash your Creativity Portal’, which will showcase the Photo Assist feature on the S26 Ultra, giving visitors a ‘blank canvas becomes whatever you can imagine, whether it’s changing outfits or locations, or adding, removing or resizing objects’.
Finally, the Infinite Possibilities Portal will let guests take photos of themselves with a wave of their hand using Galaxy’s hands-free Palm Selfie feature.
Once through the portals, visitors can take advantage of the Creative Studio which will give them the opportunity to further edit their video or photos to create their ideal images.
The photos and video captured at the Samsung Sky Portal will be combined into a collaborative film which captures a 24-hour glimpse into the life of the people of Sydney, as captured by them. It’s also an opportunity to win 1 of 3 Samsung gift packs which includes a 32” The Frame Art TV, Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy Buds 4.
You can check out the Samsung Sky Portal will be available as part of the Vivid festival in Sydney until the 10th of June.
