John Laws multi-million dollar collection of cars, watches, art and other items up for Auction

John Laws was a legend of the Australian radio industry. He created great wealth for himself and his family through decades at the very top of his game, as well as through commercial agreements with huge companies like Valvoline and Toyota. Now, his collection of the finest things is up for auction.

The King passed away aged 90 late last year, and now Bonhams Auction House has a series of collections available for purchase, made up of well over 600 individual lots.

At the very top of the list are his cars, and there are just three up for auction along with the NSW number plates “123-123”.

Around Mr Laws’ home must certainly be a lot of artworks, with a huge number of paintings up for auction in their own collection too.

There’s a bunch of furniture, chairs, couches, and other items from the “library” – and while it’s all very fine – it might not fit with your own décor.

Along with those are items like desk ornaments, classic cameras, and there are a lot – and I mean a lot of fountain pens (like – almost 30).

Mr Laws most certainly also had a fascination and love for watches.

Now some of them aren’t my style at all, gold and rather fancy, and they include 10 PATEK PHILIPPE classics, which should fetch some good money, as well as some more traditional and every-day models too.

It’s a fascinating overall collection, not just because of the significance of John Laws career and the likelihood many might love to own something that John Laws owned or wore, but because of the sheer luxury of the items.
