Telstra Network down – Users experiencing issues across Telstra and Sub-brands Boost and Belong

Some Aussies are waking up this morning to zero bars of coverage on the Telstra Network. EFTM has had reports across NSW and South East Queensland of outages on Telstra, Belong and Boost.

NOTE: At 9.30am (Sydney time) there are reports of widespread service recovery, Telstra is making a statement in the next half hour to update, likely that will indicate that services are back online, and gradually being restored to all

A Telstra Spokesperson confirmed to EFTM “We’re looking into an issue affecting some mobile calls and data connections. If you’re having trouble connecting, try again as it may work on a retry. We’re on it and will share an update as soon as it’s fixed. Thanks for sticking with us.”

At 8.30am Telstra issued an updated, but frankly almost identical statement:

“We’re investigating an issue affecting some mobile calls and data connections as a matter of priority. If you’re having trouble connecting, try again as it may work on a retry. Fixed internet services like NBN are not affected. We’re on it and will share an update as soon as it’s fixed. Thanks for sticking with us.”

At this stage the scale is unknown, we have reports of one Telstra user with no issues, and others with no service, and several Boost and Belong customers with no service.

Customers of Woolworths Everyday Mobile and Aldi Mobile which also operate on the Telstra Network are also experiencing the same issues.

Telstra’s network status pages are not currently reporting outages are now reporting the outage with the above statement

We will update as we learn more.

If you’re experiencing issues, let us know in the EFTM Man Cave

Clearly, there’s an issue – but there are some people not yet experiencing anything.

One keen user noted that a restart seemed to resolve the issue.

Secondary impacts from the outage will be felt as this outage goes into the work-day across Australia.

Victoria’s V-Line regional trains are not operating due to their inability to communicate with drivers:

And in NSW on the regional Hunter line trains are also affected:
