Xiaomi unveil the new REDMI Note 17 Series, an affordable range of smartphones with Xiaomi’s biggest ever smartphone battery

Xiaomi has lifted the covers off its new REDMI Note 17 Series, with a major focus on the first-ever Pro Max model: the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G.  The new series features bigger batteries, faster charging and a new design language, REDMI Titan Quality.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G features Xiaomi’s largest-ever smartphone battery at a staggering 9,210mAh, and the series also includes the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G in Australia to offer options for different needs.

For those concerned with device maintenance, Xiaomi promises up to six years of security updates across the lineup and up to six years of battery health.  The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G offers even more with a “six-year like-new software experience.”

Both new devices offer reliability and ruggedness and are the first smartphones to earn the TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification, developed around a “built to last, made to trust” philosophy.  The tests included drop resistance, water resistance, and battery performance.

The series features REDMI Titan Structure, a reinforced hardware architecture that delivers improved drop resistance and dust and water resistance, protecting your investment through everyday accidents.  With IP66 and IP68 ratings, the Pro models feature a new Underwater Mode.  Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 further enhances the new smartphones’ ruggedness.

The 9,210mAh battery on the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G delivers up to three days of battery life, and with 100W HyperCharge fast charging, just 20 minutes of charging provides a full day of use.  The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is also no slouch in the battery department, featuring an 8,340mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge.

Both smartphones feature the REDMI Titan Battery System, which uses silicon-carbon battery technology to deliver a breakthrough in ultra-long battery life and smart power management.  The intelligent power management also helps the batteries retain 80% or more of their original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, approximately six years of use.

The new design language premiering on the REDMI Note 17 Series features a new camera module, a flat display, gently rounded corners and a dual-finish rear panel to deliver a comfortable in-hand experience.

The new Pro models sport a 6.83-inch display with up to 3,599 nits of peak brightness and 1.5K resolution.  They also deliver real-world, everyday AI capabilities including AI Creativity Assistant for photo editing, with the Pro Max also featuring HyperAI for advanced AI assistance.
