Bose brings back wired Noise Cancelling earbuds – and we’re loving it!

In a world of Bluetooth and Wifi taking away the cables we used to know attached to almost every product, Bose is bringing the cable back in one of the most unexpected places – earbuds, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Years ago, my travel go-to were the Wired Bose QuietComfort 20 (QC20) – these were 3.5mm connected headphones with a little box of smarts at the bottom that needed charging to keep the noise cancelling working. Frankly, the new Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds are better by lengths because they never need charging.

Connected to your device by USB-C they feature a very small inline controller but they don’t need their own battery power because they are powered by the same USB-C connection that delivers your audio.

Why are wired great? Well, simplicity for a start, but also when travelling they are no risk of falling under your seat and being lost. Plus, never need to charge them!

“Wired earbuds are experiencing a cultural renaissance, and when we decided to bring them back, we knew we had to make them even better than before,” said Raza Haider, president of Bose Premium Consumer Audio. “Technology has come a long way since our last wired earbuds, giving us the opportunity to bring our latest advancements to the category and set a new standard for what wired earbuds can be.” 

Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds come in Black and White Smoke colours from October 15 at a price of 9.95.

There will also be a limited edition Dewdrop Mint colour from October 21.

With some of the best noise cancelling on the market, Bose is no slouch in this market so we’re expecting great sound quality but also outstanding Noise Cancelling.

These will be outstanding for Bose at airports, and they’ll be popular for frequent travellers too!
