Pre-Orders Open for New Lego Wallace & Gromit Sidecar Set

Lego has unveiled another highly anticipated set, this time based on the beloved Aardman claymation characters, Wallace & Gromit.

The 1,038-piece set features Wallace & Gromit riding their motorbike and sidecar from the popular episode Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave. The set features Wallace fully decked out in window cleaning gear, while Gromit sports his aviator helmet and goggles.

The set is being launched as part of the Lego Ideas platform, where Lego fans can submit their models and see them produced. Sébastien Esnault is the fan behind this creation, who spoke about his design saying

“To recreate the distinctive clay look, I deliberately chose the most rounded LEGO elements wherever possible. Wallace’s head was by far the biggest challenge. It took many iterations to find the right balance between accurate proportions, a recognizable expression and a sturdy construction.”

Sébastien has included a number of easter eggs in the set for fans to discover, including crackers, a ball of yarn and a diamond all hidden under the motorbike’s seat hatch.

The set is available to pre-order now for 9.99 over on the Lego store, with sets being dispatched on October 1st.
